How do I take my Healing Combination?

Add four drops from your bottle to eight fluid ounces of water and sip throughout the day. Replenish as necessary. Instead of putting the combination in water, you can put four drops under your tongue; rub four drops on your lips, behind your ears or on your temples and wrists. Repeat four times a day.

You can take your Healing Combinations as often as you want. If you are in a mood or a bit of a crisis, you only may need one dose, but if you have been feeling the same way for some time you can take them for as long as you need to.

Will it work right away?

The Bach Flowers in your Healing Combination will take effect right away, but it may not be immediately apparent. It depends on how sensitive you are to your own feelings and the changes in them. Your willingness to change is the primary factor in determining how rapidly it will take a combination to work.

My Healing Combination seems to have stopped working. Why would that be?

There are two possible reasons why a Healing Combination might stop working.

If the combination has had the maximum possible effect, there will be no further improvement. For example, if you are emotionally centered and balanced, you cannot get more centered and balanced. In this case the Healing Combination will stop working since it has done its job.
If the person taking the combination does not want to get better, the Healing Combinaton will have no affect. This may be the case if the person taking the combination does not want to deal with the issue or issues that cause the emotional upset. This often happens when the Healing Combination was purchased for someone who does not want it.

How did you come up with the Bach Flowers in the Combinations?

Most of the Healing Combinations came about because Jackie Beck or one of her close friends or family suffered from some malady that she sought to cure. For example, her husband suffered from a mild form of Chronic Fatigue Syndrom.

As a result, she researched the symptoms of the disorder, discovered what the emotional issues were behind those symptoms, and then researched the Bach Flowers that would cure those emotional issues. Lousie Hay's book Heal Your Life and others were very helpful in learning the emotional issues of disease and the training Jackie recieved along with numerous other sources of information filled in the gaps.

I'm pregnant. Will the combinations harm my baby?

No. In fact, the combinations will make your pregnancy and delivery much easier. You must take the combinations throughout the pregnancy, delivery and after the birth for the combinations to continue to be effective. Make sure that the combination you choose contains Star of Bethlehem. For perinatal and postpartum depression, we recommend Healing Combinations for Depression.

Will my Healing Combination cure my physical complaints?

Essentially yes. The Bach system views physical disorder as the outcome of emotional and/or spiritual disorder. The role of the practitioner is to identify these subtle disorders and recommend the Essences which can help to restore the you to inner harmony. The Detailed Questionnaire is the first step in identifying your personal issues.

For example, a person who is mentally rigid and unbending may develop an arthritic condition. A practitioner would evaluate and treat the mental condition, not the physical. Ultimately a state of mental and emotional harmony will eventually express itself in the health of the physical body.

How do I choose the right essences for me?

Immediately, you can start by using the Custom Combination Questionnaire. This will select the remedies based on the answers to your questions. If the essences you need are already pre-packaged, the questionnaire will let you know.

Are the combinations appropriate for small children?

Yes! And, since children have not yet developed many mental or emotional blockages, the combinations will be very effective very quickly.

If you have any concerns about taking your combination, then don't. Simply return it within 365 days for a full refund.

I've heard the combinations have a bit of brandy in them. Is this true?

We originally made the combinations using a dropperful of brandy. Then we tried using a dropperful of apple cider vinegar. We've decided that the best thing for all concerned is to leave the preservative out of the combinations.

The Bach Flower essences themselves to contain about 27% brandy. When added to the natural spring water we use, the resulting combination has less than 1% brandy in it. If this concerns you, we recommend that the combination be rubbed on the wrists, behind the ears or on some other pulse point instead of ingesting it.

If you have any concerns about taking your combination, then don't. Simply return it within 365 days for a full refund.

How will I know when to stop taking my Healing Combination?

Stop taking your Healing Combination when the issue that you took it is no longer present. You may also notice that, after taking it faithfully for a few weeks, you've started to forget. This is your subconscious telling you that you no longer need the remedies in the combination.

I see several references to a free consultation on the site. What does this entail?

A free consultation starts with you filling out the detailed questionnaire that can be downloaded from the My Account portion of the website. Once you've completed it, simply mail it to us and we'll evaluate it and determine, from your answers, which Bach Flower Essences you need. This information will be e-mailed to you along with a link to the combination bottle.

For faster response, you can scan the questionnaire and e-mail us the scanned results. We are currently working on an electronic version of the questionnaire, but don't have it completed yet.

In addition, your answers will give us some insight into what's going on with you and we may recommend that you purchase one or more homeopathic rememdies.

Why do I have to register to get to the detailed questionnaire?

A free consultation, which the detailed questionnaire is the first step, is a committment on both the part of you and Healing Combinations. When we've evaluated the questionnaire for you, we will send you a link to the combination bottle that you need. Your account will allow us to provide you with this personalized service. In addition, when we get the electronic version of the quesitonnaire online, we will be able to keep a history of your answers to the questions and the remedies that have been selected. This will help us provide you with a more accurate consultation over time.

Are there side effects to using a Healing Combination?

No. The Bach Remedies are all derived from non-toxic substances, with the idea that a "positive energy" can redirect or neutralize "negative energy". If there is no mental or emotional reason for you to take a Bach Flower in a combination, the remedy will simply have no effect.

I'm still taking another medication. How will my Healing Combination affect me?

The Bach Remedies are not medications in the traditional sense, but rather energetic remedies that work on your overall being or essence. The current medication you are taking will not interfere with your Healing Combination, nor will the Healing Combination interact in any way with your medication. However, the healing affects of your Healing Combination may not be as apparent to you as they might otherwise be.

If you are taking a medication under a doctors care, please do not stop taking it without his advice and consent. In fact, we recommend that you tell him or her about your Healing Combination. If they are curious, let us know and we will be happy to send them information on Bach Flower Essences and the Healing Combinations.

My combination doesn't seem to be as effective as it used to be. What does this mean and what do I do about it?

It may mean that you are not taking the remedy often enough. Take a dropper-full under the tongue as well as in a bottle of water and sipping it throughout the day. It might also indicate that you are ready for another remedy. Finally, it could be an indication the dis-ease or dis-order that you originally sought to cure is nearly gone. If you are in the middle of a bottle, go ahead and finish it. In the meantime, take the Custom Combination Questionnaire to determine what other issues have come up for you. You might also consider downloading the detailed questionnaire from the My Account section of the website, filling it out and returning it for a more detailed analysis of your present situation. Jackie personnally handles each and every questionnaire that comes in. Frequent updates to your Healing Combination will help you stay in balance.

Remember to keep journaling. This is how you will stay in touch with what's going on in your body and become aware of the subtle changes that may be taking place.

I've had Hypothyroidism for a long time, in fact probably since since my 8 year old was born. When I discovered it, I started taking another natural remedy and found it wasn't working for me completely. I created my own Bach Flower Combination and discovered in short order that I was a lot better. I stopped being moody, and loosing my hair. I sleep a lot better, have more energy and don't get depressed any more. I've also discovered that I'm not hypoglycemic! I can't guarantee that you'll have the same results, but if you purchase the remedy, take it and keep a journal, I'll bet you'll see a difference. After taking the combination, I'm feeling worse. Why is that and should I stop taking them?

What you are experiencing is known as an "awareness crisis". Increased awareness is the hallmark of the flower essences. The genius of the flower awareness crisis is not that it makes symptoms worse, but makes us more aware. Greater self-awareness strengthens our sense of Self, enhances self worth and potential, points towards a solution, and creates a general sense of positive well being. It restores our free will -- knowing that we are not victims of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors, we can choose to think, feel and act in alignment with our true natures.

There are several things you can do to take advantage of an awareness crisis:

Journaling, artistic expression, dreamwork, prayer, meditation and counseling, can ameliorate a painful awareness crisis. Using such tools acts to further potentize the flower essence in its interaction with the psyche.

Consider cutting back to one dose a day or stopping for several days. This can help create a comfortable pace of transformation.
Sometimes a blend is simply too powerful. If need be, we can provide you with a blend that contains fewer essences so that you can deal with smaller chunks of energy at a time.

Remember, the idea is to get you balanced and cure the underlying issues. If you stop taking the combination, it will be more difficult for you to take care of yourself. If the emotional issue has become apparent to you, you might consider trying the Emotional Freedom Technique to help you move past the issue and become more balanced.

How do the Bach Flower Essences in the Healing Combinations Work?

To explain how Bach Flower Essences work, we will need to get a little technical. In Quantum Physics, we learn that everything is energy and that everything has a specific vibrational rate. When something is out of balance with the universe, there is an energetic response to that imbalance. On a more physical level, when something is out of balance in our mental-emotional-spiritual being, we manifest a physical response to it. For example, when you overwork yourself the result is often a cold or flu. It is your bodies way of forcing you to rest.

Bach Flower Essences work at the quantum level to repair the energetic imbalance by providing energy that is vibrating at a higher rate, a rate closer to your natural vibrational rate. This energy, we call it "positive" (meaning good) energy, floods out the energy of your imbalance (we call this negative or bad energy). When the root problem has been addressed, the outward symptom will disappear.

How do you make the Healing Combinations?

Our Bach Flower practitioner and founder, Jackie, first develops the formula for a combination. She has a variety of resources she uses to accomplish this, including texts on the subject and her years of experience.

We then order bottles from our supplier. When they arrive, we sterilize them in hot water and vinegar. The sterilized bottles are filled with natural spring water. These prepared bottles are called "blanks".

These blanks are set aside in a controlled environment waiting your order. They don't wait very long before the desired Bach Flower essences are added, the bottle is sealed and shipped to you.

I have many problems. Which do I take care of first?

As a general rule, you want to take care of your most pressing issue first. Take a few moments to determine what's bothering you the most, then select the combination or the essences to resolve that problem.

Most of the time, solving the primary issue will solve many other problems as well. Once your most pressing issue has been taken care of, then you can look at the next most pressing issue. Keep this up until all your issues are resolved and you are balanced.

My condition is the result of a medical procedure. Will the combinations still work for me?

The combinations will most likely help, not completely heal your condition. For example, if you are suffering from Hypothyroidism as a result of Radio Active Iodine (RAI) treatments, the Healing Combinations for Hypothyroidism will help you feel better and your body may start to heal your thyroid. It will take longer than it would had you not had the RAI treaments.

In addition, you also want to look at the issue that lead to you having your medical procedure. If you don't resolve those issues, they will manifest themselves elsewhere. Remember, you want to get to the root of your issue and resolve it.

I've noticed that you have remedies for all sorts of conditions. Is it possible to get one remedy for several conditions?

The short answer is "no". Dr. Bach actually created a "super combination" and found that it wasn't as effective as it should have been.

I'm taking a prescription medication for my condition. Should I stop taking it when I get the Healing Combination?

We can't tell you to stop taking your prescription medication, although many of our customers have. We recommend that you taper off your medication based on how you feel.

Why would a combination not work?

Each essence in a combination has a specific purpose. As a general rule, there are only 3 reasons why a set of essences would not work for you:

You want to hold on to the condition or issue that the essence is trying to heal.
We can assume this is not true or you wouldn't be considering an alternative.
The essences you are taking are not the right essences for you.
If you've given the combination time and it has had no effect, we recommend you take the Custom Combination Questionnaire to find out the specific set of essences you need.
You are not taking enough of the essences for them to be effective. Depending on the debth of the issues you are attempting to resolve and the amount of physical activity you undertake, you may burn off the essences very quickly. As a result, we recommend that you take the combination at least four times a day, more often if necessary.

Will they work for you? Only you can tell, but isn't the chance of being healed worth it?

The combination appears to be just water. Is there anything in it?

Yes. For most of our combinations, we start by creating what we call a "Mother Tincture", a 3 ounce version of your combination. The mother tincture is made up of spring water and 16 drops, twice as many as recommended, of each of the required Bach Flower Essences.

We then take a dropper full, about 16 drops, from the mother tincture and add it, along with spring water, to a 1 ounce bottle. This is the bottle we ship you.

This process has two advantages; first it's faster to create the bottles and second it reduces the amount of alcohol in the combinations to less than 1%. The original Bach Flower Essences contain 27% alcohol (brandy) in addition to the flower essence itself. Diluting the combination as we've done maintains the potency while reducing the amount of alcohol. This method also follows the guidelines set forth by Dr. Bach himself.

I'm getting great results from my combination. How do I know when to stop and what do I do when I'm done?

If you've gotten the results that you want, then you've achieved balance in your body in this area. Take the combination only when you feel the symptoms returning or when you feel out of balance.

What throws us out of balance is the food we eat, the environment we live in, our emotional space, and the people we interact with. Basically, it is unavoidable. For this reason, we recommend that you avoid the processed foods (white flour, white sugar, enriched foods, high fructose corn syrup, etc.), journal and take care of yourself.

In addition, we also recommend that you take the Custom Combination Questionnaire to get a combination to clear any remaining issues.
